Room 9’s MOTAT Visit By Melenaite

Two weeks ago the Senior School students from Glenbrae School went to the Auckland MOTAT to study  transport.

First, we all walked down to the school hall and sat in our class lines.Then Mrs Raj spoke to us about the trip. Then Ms Elia came in and told us that  one bus was going to be late.

Room 10 and half of room 7 went in the first bus. When the second bus came, Room 9 and half of room 7 went in the second bus.

When we got there, we all got out of the bus and Anna, the MOTAT Educator Anna took us to a spare  room and that is where we had our assembly. Then we sat down and Anna told us what we were going to do .

First room 9 had morning tea and after that we went on a Tram ride and it  took us 15 minutes.

When we got back,we  walked back to the assembly room and waited for Anna to come and take us  to the class she was going to take. We went to a different room and Anna gave us a transport puzzle. Our groups had to sort it out and put it in order.

When we had finished,  we packed up the puzzle and Anna took us around and showed us some of the transport  they used in the olden days. After that, we went back to the assembly room and had lunch.

Finally we had a tour with our parent helpers. We went to the Games Zone and tried some of the games. Then we went through the Mirror Maze.

When it was 2 o’clock, we went back to the assembly room and got our bags and lined up to go to the bus.Then we walked up to the bus got in for our trip back to school. We reached school at half past two.

I really enjoyed the trip to the MOTAT because I learnt a lot about transport.

Famous Fraser

Water Fun By Fraser

Water Fun Day

On Monday the 18th of February ,all  Glenbrae students had a water fun day  at Glenbrae School courts.

First we got changed into our house colours.Then we walked to our house areas.After that we marched around the courts.

Next  Mrs Repata talked to us about the activities.After that we went to our first activity.There were seven activities we took part in. Some of the activities were the Three Legged Race,Under and Over, Zig-Zag and the Water Slide.

Finally, all activities were over and we assembled at the courts.Mrs Moopanar announced the results. We all thought that the Red team had won but it was actually the Green team that won.                                                    

We all had a good time at the Water Fun Day.    

                                                                                                     

Motat and Water Fun Day By Dasharn

On Monday the 18th of February 2013, Glenbrae School had a water fun day.

First, Room 9 went to Mrs Greenham’s Activity that was the three legged race. Next, we went to Mrs Repata’s activity. We had to do the zig zag race with cups of water.

Then we went to Mrs Moopanar activity. Her activity was running with cups of water to fill our House bin. Next we went to the water slide activity with Mrs Holderness.

After that we went the school courts and sat down. Mrs Moopanar told us that the Blue House had won. Then we went back to our classroom and changed into our uniforms.

The water fun day was a lot of fun for my friends and I.

Room 9’s MOTAT Visit

On Thursday 21st March, Room 9 went to the MOTAT and half  of the school went with them but Mafoa, Justin and I had to stay back at school.

Ms Elia told us to stay with Mrs Kelly and Ms Elia gave us some Maths work.  I did 5 Math Worksheets. Then Mrs Kelly told us to go to up other  classrooms. I went to room 1 and Mafoa  went to room 2.

After that I went back to Mrs Elia to do some more Math work and Justin was there too.Justin and I did two more Math Worksheets with Mrs Elia.

I  had done eight Math Worksheets by the time the  Glenbrae Senior School  came back from the MOTAT.

When school was over, I walked home with Moses and George.

Levi, the Learner

Greetings and Kia ora, my name is Levi F and I am 9 years old.

My best friend are Levi R, Fraser, Jahsiah, Jayden and Moses. I like doing Maths at school.  

My favourite take away is Burger King and my favourite drink is coke.

When its lunch time, its cool as because I get time off  school work for a while to play with my friends.

I also like going on car rides with my mum and brother.

Room 9’s MOTAT Visit By Fineasi

Three weeks ago the Senior School went on the bus to visit the Motat and learn about transport.

First  we went to the hall and Mrs Raj spoke to us. Then we waited for the bus and the bus came late.

While we were waiting for the bus, we had a quiz. Then the bus came and room 10 and half of room 7 went on the first bus.

We waited for the second bus to come. While we were waiting, we played a quiz with half of the senior school.

After a while the second bus came. Next the rest of the classes went to the Motat.

When we got there, we had morning tea first in the assembly room. Then we went on a Tram ride.

After the tram ride we went with the MOTAT educator to learn about land transport. We had sort out pictures on land transport from the olden days.

Then we went on a guided tour with the MOTAT Educator to see the different types of land transport at the MOTAT. Soon it was lunchtime and we had lunch.

After lunch, our parent helpers took us on a guided tour of the MOTAT. My group went to the Mirror Maze, the Train Tunnel and the Games Room.

Finally, it was time for us to come back to school. We walked to the bus and got on for our trip back to school. After half an hour, we got back to school at last.We all had a great time at the Motat learning about land transport.

Water Fun Day by Jahsiah

On Monday 18th of February, all the students of Glenbrae School had a water fun day at the Glenbrae School courts.

First we changed into our togs and house colours.Then We walked to the house areas. After that we marched around the court and assembled into our houses.

Next Ms. Repata talked to us about the activities.Then we went to the first activities  which was the three legged race. We took part in seven other activities where we had to race with cups of water to fill up our House buckets.

Finally all events were over and all Glenbrae students assembled again. Ms. Moopanar announced the winners.
The green team came first and second was Blue team. After that we all went back to our classrooms and changed into our school uniforms.

We all thought that it was a fantastic day. I had a lot of fun with my friends.

Room 9’s Visit to the MOTAT by Owen

Two weeks ago Glenbrae students  went to the Motat. We went there to learn about transport. Room Nine went by a bus to the Motat.

Firstly, we went to the hall in our lines and Mrs Raj talked to us. Then we waited for the bus to come. It came late so we played a quiz game. After that the first bus came and half of Room Seven and Room 10 went first. When they had left, we played “I spy”. Finally the other bus came and we all went to the Motat.

When we got to the Motat,we assembled in the assembly room. Then we had morning tea. Next we went on a Tram ride. After that, we went with the Motat Educator to learn about different kinds of transport. Then we had lunch together in the assembly room.

After lunch we went  on a self directed tour with our adult helpers. We saw a lot of different types of road transport from the early days.

After that we assembled in the assembly room at 2.30pm to get ready to come back to school.Then we got onto the bus and came back to school. Finally we reached school at 2.45pm.

Room 9’s MOTAT Visit by Fusi

Two weeks ago, the Senior School Students from Glenbrae School went by bus to the Motat to study about transport.

First we went to the hall and sat in our lines. Then Mrs Raj spoke to us. We waited for the bus. While we were waiting for the bus, we had a quiz on transport and we played “I Spy”.

When the buses came, Room 10 and half of room 7 went on the first bus. Room 9 and the other half of room 7 went on the second bus.

After some time we reached the Motat. We assembled in an assembly room and had morning tea first.

After our morning tea, we went on a Tram ride. When we came back from the Tram ride, we went with the Motat Educator to a room to learn about road transport. We had to sort out pictures on different types of road transport.

Next we went back to the assembly room to have lunch. After lunch, we went on a self directed tour with our adult helpers.

Finally we assembled in the assembly room at 2:30pm. Then we walked to the bus and got on it to come back to school. We reached school at 2:45pm.

Lastly, I walked back home and dropped my bag on the ground and fell into bed and slept.

Room 9’s MOTAT Visit

Two weeks ago the Senior students from Glenbrae School went on a  visit to the Motat by bus.

We walked to the hall and sat down in our group lines first. Then Mrs Raj spoke to us. After that we waited for the bus. While waiting for the bus, we had a quiz.Then we played eye spy with Mrs George.

Later, Ms Elia told us  that the bus would arrive late.  When the bus came, half of Room Seven and Room Ten went first. Then Room  Nine and the other half of Room Seven went on the second bus.When we were on the bus I sat with Fineasi.

When we arrived at Motat, we assembled at the assembly room. After that, we had our morning tea.Then we went on a tram ride.

Later on we went to a room with Anna and she gave us some  transport puzzles to do. Our group finished the puzzles first. After  awhile we went to the mirror maze.

Then we went to the game zone with Mrs Maruariki. We were excited about having free time at the Motat. We went to the bird cage and we had to pull the rope.

Finally it was time for us to come back to school. We went to the bus and I sat with Anthony right at the front of the bus behind the driver.

When we got back to school, we went home. I had an enjoyable time at the MOTAT.

MOTAT VISIT

Two weeks ago, the Senior School went on a bus to MOTAT to learn about transport.

First, we went to the hall.Then Mrs Raj spoke to us.After that we waited for the bus to come.

When the first bus came, Room 10 and half of room 7 went on first. Then we had a quiz while waiting for the second bus.

While we were playing, the second bus arrived. Then we walked to the bus and got onto the bus.

Half an hour later we arrived at MOTAT. We went and assembled in the assembly room.

Then  we had morning tea. After that  we went for a tram ride. After the tram ride, we followed the MOTAT educator and we learned about different types of land transport. Next, we had lunch.

After lunch, we went on a guided tour with Anna, the MOTAT  educator. We  went to the steam room and it felt so hot. I couldn’t even breath because it was so hot.

At the end of the guided tour, we went back to the assembly room. We were so happy because it was free time.

Then our parent helpers took as on a self directed tour. We went to the imagination room first. The imagination room was awesome. Next we went to the mirror maze room. The mirror maze room was confusing.

When free time was over, we got onto the bus and came back to school. We really enjoyed the MOTAT Visit and we learnt a lot about transport.

MOTAT Visit by Ngatokorua

On Wednesday, Room 1 students went to the MOTAT on the

bus to learn about transport.  We lined up and walked

to the hall and sat down.

After that Anna talked to us about the activities. First we walked into a room that had old transport cars.

We saw the old cars that didn’t have any engines. My Nana walked with me and Room 1 students around the Motat.

We looked around this old house that had a doll in it.

My Nana saw lots of old transport cars and Room 1 came

with us.

There were lots of people there. We learnt lots of things at the Motat. It was a nice day. Then we went on the tram ride as our last activity.

Finally we got back and walked into the bus and went back to school. We got out off the bus and we saw Glenbrae students going home.

Then my Nana and I walked home.

Room 9’s MOTAT Visit

Firstly,we went to the hall and sat down.Mrs Raj spoke to us the trip. We waited for the bus because  the bus was an hour late to Glenbrae.Then we had a quiz with Mrs Raj.

When the first bus arrived, Room 10 and half of room 7 went first into the bus. Then Room 9 and half of room 7 went next.

Half an hour later, we arrived at the Motat and we assembled in the assembly room.Then we had morning tea.

After morning tea, we went on the tram ride.Then we went with the Motat Educator to  learn about different types of land transport.

Once we had done this session, it was lunch time. We went to the assembly room to have lunch.

After lunch, we went on a self directed tour with our adult helpers. We saw many different types of land transport. I really enjoyed going through the mirror maze.

Then it was time for us to come back to school. We all assembled in the assembly room at 2:30pm. Then we boarded the bus for our trip back to school. We reached school at 2:45pm.

It was a very interesting trip indeed and we learnt a lot about transport.

Then we went up to  do the zig zag race with cups of water. This game was  cooler than the first game.

My friends played with me and it was so much fun.

Some parents were there to watch us play. When all the activities were over, we went  and sat down at the

courts. Then Mrs Moopanar told us that the Green House had won the competition.

After that we went back to our classroom to change into our dry clothes because we were wet.Then we had our lunch.

We felt that the water fun day was a lot of fun.
